Background[]
Doves and Pigeons are great beginner birds, but might be harder to find. The Diamond and Ringneck doves are the most common. They are generally easygoing.
Housing[]
They need a cage of at least 24x24x24 with a bar spacing of 1/2 inch.
Feeding[]
A dove/pigeon should have a varied diet of pellets, fruit, vegetables, grains, and occasional lean meat.
Grooming[]
These birds need at least a bath once a week, either misted or in a small container of water. Nail trims are needed so they don't get caught, and wing trimming is optional. Beak trimming is up to your vet.
Health Concerns[]
They need at least a yearly checkup at the vet and whenever they are sick.
